Back in December 2005 I started a thread on the
Swimclub website for Broomhill Pool

It's had over 25,000 views now and 20 pages have accumulated as the years went by! Nobody in the campaign group imagined that we would still be plodding on now, with a decade of continuous campaigning coming up in 2012.
Thankfully things seem to be looking up: the Broomhill Pool site was re-advertised on commercial leisure sites just before Christmas 2010 with the offer of a possible contribution of up to £1million from IBC (Ipswich Borough Council). The council have stipulated that the pool must be retained as part of any development of the site.
It's been a hard slog but hopefully future generations (see photo) will be able to enjoy the lido once more.
